The remit of the Policy Development Panel is to consider all matters relating to the taxi trade. The purpose of the meeting is to consider the potential changes to the vehicle specification/ operator categories having regard to the Council's commitment to Climate Change. The meeting will comprise of the second of two evidence sessions with key stakeholders looking at the decarbonisation of the taxi fleet. The agenda will be:- | |
1 | Summary of Evidence Sessions held on : 9 November 2021 (Accessibility) & 10 December 2021 (Electrification of the Fleet) Matters arising from those sessions. |
2 | Open discussion in facilitation of forming proposals relating to composition of Taxi & Private Hire Car Fleet and Alignment of Operator Categories All proposals will be considered with due regard to: Economic viability of the trade (affordability) The Council's obligations under the Public Sector Equality Duty (to ensure that there are sufficient numbers of vehicles that are accessible) The Council's Climate Change obligations Briefing Paper in relation to these considerations |
3 | Agreement of Proposals for consultation with Taxi Forum and timetable to present recommendations to the Executive. Proposals will be tabled during the meeting following consideration of evidence discussed during the previous item. |
4 | Consideration of agreement to formally close the work of the Policy Development Panel |
