3 | Motion The following motion is reserved to Council:- (a) Falkirk Community Trust Council notes:- 1. that the Falkirk Community Trust is due to transfer to the Council on 1 April; 2. that this results in the loss of c£1.1m in rates savings each year, in perpetuity; 3. that the budget gap faced by the Council this year is unprecedented and is exacerbated by this loss; 4. £1m of cuts in Trust services is proposed which will only result in balancing the loss of the rates savings; 5. this is the last chance for the Council to change its mind, as the rates savings would not apply on any future transfer from the Council to a charitable trust. Council agrees that all work on the transfer of the Trust back to the Council should cease and Council resolves that the Trust remains the provider of all its current services. Deputation Request An application has been made by Ian Scott, to be received as a deputation to be heard in respect of this item of business. In accordance with Standing Order 33.5, the committee shall decide whether to hear the deputation. View Papers |
