Following additional funding received from the Scottish Government, we will provide financial support to pupils as follows:

School holiday payments – Easter (02–16 April 2021)

A payment of £38.50 per pupil will be paid to parents/carers of eligible P1-S6 pupils in receipt of free school meals or a clothing grant awarded in the current school session.

How will the payment be made to parents and carers?

We will make direct payments to your bank account, using the details we hold on your Free School Meals or Clothing Grant claim. If no bank details are held on file, payments will be issued by cheque.

    When will I be paid?

Payment for each eligible pupil will be made on or around:

    • £38.50 paid on Wednesday 31 March 2021 (for the period Friday 02 April to Friday 16 April 2021)

While payments should be received on these dates this may vary slightly depending on your bank and payment method. Parents and carers receiving payment will be emailed to confirm the payment.

Who is not eligible for this additional support?

Pupils not eligible for this are:

    • Pre-school pupils in early years establishments
    • P1-P3 pupils and those pupils in special educational settings where they receive a free meal through universal and not means tested provision.

    Spring hardship £100 payments

Additional financial support will be provided to low income families of P1-S6 pupils in receipt of free school meals or clothing grant based on £100 per eligible pupil.

We will also be providing this financial support to eligible low income families of children in our early learning and childcare settings.

How will the payment be made to parents and carers?

You do not need to apply. For most families, we will automatically make payments to your bank account using data we currently hold on our systems. If no bank details are held on file, payments will be issued by cheque.

    When will I be paid?

Payment for each eligible pupil will be made on or around:

    • £100 paid on Wednesday 31 March 2021

While payments should be received on these dates this may vary slightly depending on your bank and payment method. Parents and carers receiving payment will be emailed to confirm the payment.

We will need to contact some families with eligible children in the early years sector where we need further information to make this payment. Payment in these cases will be made on or after Wednesday 14 April 2021.

Who is not eligible for this additional support?

Pupils not eligible for this are:

    • P1-P3 pupils and those pupils in special educational settings where they receive a free meal through universal and not means tested provision.

    Self-Isolation Payment

From 09 April 2021 any P1-P7 pupils who are self-isolating and who qualify for means tested free school meals will receive a payment of £3.50 per day for each school day missed within the overall 10 day period that they are advised by Public Health/Test & Protect to self-isolate.

How will the payment be made to parents and carers?

We will use the data we already hold on our information systems to make direct payment to your bank account using the details we hold on your Free School Meals or Clothing Grant claim. If no bank details are held on file, payments will be issued by cheque.

    When will I be paid?

Payments should be made on or around Wednesday each week during term time. Parents and carers receiving payment will be emailed to confirm the payment.
