Our three Advice and Support Hubs have been recognised as a model of best practice by winning a highly commended award at the national Institute of Rating, Revenues and Valuations (IRRV) UK awards held in Telford last month.   Recognising the way the Council is tackling social inclusion, Falkirk was one of only four authorities out of 60 finalists to receive a highly commended award.

With over 3,500 members from most of the local authorities across the UK, the IRRV is the professional organisation covering all aspects of Revenues, Benefits, Council Tax, Non-Domestic Rates and the Valuation of Properties.

Lorna Chisholm, Benefits Manager said:  “We were disappointed not to win the category but to be nominated as a finalist with our first ever entry was a fantastic achievement.  To win the highly commended award is recognition of the work we are doing in the Hubs along with the excellent feedback we received from the judges following their inspection visit in August.”
