Employees are being encouraged to download the Scottish Government’s contact tracing app - Protect Scotland – after it went live yesterday.

The app, which is part of NHS Scotland’s Test and Protect System, aims to break the chain of infection, speeding up the process of identifying people at risk of catching coronavirus and reducing its ability to spread.

Sign up is voluntary and more than 500k people from across Scotland have downloaded the app since it went live!

Adding it to your smartphone is easy to do, simply search for Protect Scotland via the Apple App Store or Google Play and click download. You might also want to encourage your colleagues, friends and family to do the same.

None of your personal details nor your location are stored by the app. Instead, the app uses encrypted, anonymised codes exchanged between smartphones to determine all close contacts.
