A report outlining proposed changes to our service and management structure will go before Council on 24 March.

The proposals take into account the impact COVID-19 has had on:

  • Services: we've had to radically alter how we deliver services over the past 12 months.
  • Need: community and local business needs have fundamentally changed, and significant support will be needed to ensure recovery.
  • Priorities: our new priorities - Communities, Enterprise, and Innovation - form the basis of our Corporate Plan and Business Plan, both approved last September.

Becoming a modern council

Because we have new priorities, the work we do and how we allocate our resources must help us deliver on them.

To help make that happen, a review of our service and management structure was undertaken to ensure it reflects a modern and responsive Council of the Future.

Next steps

Council will make no decision on the proposed changes to our service and management structure until 24 March.

If agreed, a consultation process will commence with managers directly affected and relevant Trades Unions.
