Following the decision by Council on the workforce package, a formal proposal was issued to Trade Unions on the pay structure and terms and conditions package.   A letter was sent to all employees advising the pay structure was agreed and in place from April this year.

As part of the process, Trade Unions agreed to ballot their members on the proposed changes to terms and conditions.  Ballot results show employees have rejected the proposed changes.  Through discussion with Trade Unions, their view is that the timing of the ballot did not help.

As a result, it has been agreed with Trade Unions that discussions on the terms and conditions package will be paused.  It is hoped that we will be able to have meaningful and constructive discussions on this matter again at some point in the future.
