Two housing officers have been shortlisted as finalists for the Auction House Scotland 11th Empty Home Awards.

Elaine Hall is a finalist in the Outstanding Individual category and with colleague Wendy Laird in the Outstanding Team group.

The awards recognise and celebrate the outstanding work and achievements of individuals and organisations in bringing empty homes back into use across Scotland.

Kenny Gillespie, Head of Housing & Communities said: “Reducing the number of empty private properties is a Council priority and Elaine and Wendy do an outstanding job bringing empty homes back into use throughout Falkirk.  It’s fantastic to have two nominations shortlisted and I wish them both every success next month.”

Winners will be announced on 22 March at the Auction House Scotland 11th Scottish Empty Homes Conference which is being held at the COSLA Conference Centre in Edinburgh.

The awards are organised by the Scottish Empty Homes Partnership which is funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by Shelter Scotland.
