At the end of February, the Scottish Government’s guidance changed allowing workforces to move towards a more hybrid way of working. We want to share the Council’s plans for a safe, gradual, and co-ordinated return to the office.

General COVID-19 safety guidance

All employees should be familiar with and apply the general guidance. Up to date information can be found on our COVID-19 employee page.

Hybrid working guidance

New hybrid working guidance is now available. As the guidance is on a voluntary basis initially, employees mainly office based prior to the pandemic, can now request to opt in to this flexible workstyle.  Look out for more information on this in the coming days.

Building Occupancy

Building occupancy will remain at 50% during March, increasing to 75% later in the Spring with full occupancy expected by Summer. However, this does not mean 100% of staff returning to the office, it’s the availability of desks for those who need them.

These dates are subject to ongoing Government guidance, monitoring, and individual service need along with the availability of the appropriate IT arrangements being in place to accommodate the different working styles in all our office settings.

Desk booking

If you are going into the office because you cannot undertake a task at home, for a specific work purpose or to support your mental health and wellbeing, desk booking is essential as the system is managed in line with occupancy levels. Discuss with your manager too to keep them in the loop, especially if the office you want to go into isn’t yet online.

Remember to take your laptop with you and to clear and clean all equipment before you leave.

There’s more information on office locations available, access arrangements and how to book on the desk booking page on Inside Falkirk.

Speak to your line manager if you have any questions or contact the HR Helpdesk.
