Annual leave is an important part of our working lives. Don’t wait until all Covid restrictions are removed before you take a break.

Having a good working/non-working balance is important for our physical and mental wellbeing, giving our minds and bodies a break from the demands of work to rest, relax and recharge our batteries.

Our lives have changed in so many ways and for many of us, it’s still a very challenging time.  Therefore, having something to look forward to, away from your desk or workplace, should not be underestimated.

And besides, saving up leave may cause disappointment and frustration later in the year as not everyone can be off at the same time.

It's important that you book and enjoy your leave throughout the full year.  By this point in the year you should have taken, as a minimum, one week of your leave already. Have you had a break?   Do you have leave booked and planned?

It's good practice to book your annual leave well in advance, as this helps with planning, gives you something to look forward to and avoids disappointment.

Annual leave carried over from 2021 to 2022 as a result of the pandemic has to be taken in 2022, so make sure you get your leave booked as it can’t be carried forward to 2023!
