Following discussions at national level, agreement has been reached on the 2022/23 pay award for SJC employees.

The agreement covers the period from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2023.

Payroll is currently working to ensure the increase, together with backdated pay, will be added to SJC employees' November pay.

The agreement results in:

  • An increase of £2,000 for those earning up to £20,507 (based on a 36-hour calculator), providing a minimum wage of £10.85ph.
  • A £1,925 uplift or an increase of 5% (calculated on a nominal 36 hour full-time working week), whichever is larger, for those earning more than £20,507. The increase is capped for those currently earning £60,000 or more at an £3,000 uplift (based on a 37-hour calculator). This does not change the working week
  • The removal of SSSC fees (social care registration fees) where applicable
  • One extra day annual leave

Further information will be issued on the arrangements for Scottish Social Services Council fees and the extra day of leave shortly.

If you receive Universal Credit, the amount you receive may be affected by the increase in November’s pay packet.
