Improvement works in and around the Westfield roundabout and A904 Grangemouth Road towards the M9 Junction start today (Monday, 20th February).

Expected to last for 10 weeks, the works include ground investigation work and the removal of encroaching tree growth from along the roadside. Later works will include the planting of 230 semi-mature trees.

Road closures are unlikely; however, some road and footpath restrictions may be needed to keep road users and pedestrians safe while work is carried out.

Led by Balfour Beatty, the works help prepare the way for the A9/A904 road improvement scheme due to start later this year.

The scheme - part of the Council's wider £95m Tax Incremental Finance infrastructure (TIF) programme funded by growth in future business rates income - will deliver better pedestrian and cyclist facilities and safer crossing points on an improved road network.

Preparatory work has already begun to convert the site of the former Metech Training Centre on Earls Road into a site office and compound for the scheme.
