Falkirk Council launches new website

Falkirk Council has launched its new website today (Monday 3 March 2025), giving you faster, simpler access to the Council services you use most.
Built entirely in-house by the Councilās Innovation and Digital team, the website has been developed using feedback from residents, businesses and partners.
Data from the old website - which was built almost 11 years ago - was also analysed to better understand how people used the site and what information they searched for most.
The result is a modern, user-friendly website that is fully optimised for mobile phones and tablets.
That means you can access the information you need anytime, anywhere, thanks to:
- Simpler navigation that helps you find key services quickly and easily
- Smarter search function that gets you the right information faster
- Clearer content that is straightforward and easy to understand
Accessibility has also been improved, with built-in tools to translate pages, read text aloud and summarise content.
And because the site is cloud-hosted, it now provides greater flexibility and the ability to easily adapt to meet future needs.
Personalisation

The āLocal to youā feature is now easier to access, ensuring key local information is available to you every time you visit the homepage, including:
- Who your local councillors are
- When your bins will be collected
- Local council events in your ward
Simply enter your postcode or address once, and every time you visit the homepage the latest updates will be readily available.
The updated homepage also makes it easier for you to keep up to date with all the latest council news and committee meetings.
Cllr Cecil Meiklejohn, Leader of Falkirk Council, said:
By developing the website in-house using the knowledge, skills and expertise of our Innovation and Digital team, weāve delivered significant improvements without any additional cost to the Council beyond employee time.
āThe website isnāt just modern and visually appealing - itās designed to be intuitive, making it easier for everyone, regardless of digital ability, to find the information they need, when they need it.
"With enhanced accessibility features, itās now simpler than ever for people to engage with our services online.
