Public processions
If you wish to hold a public procession, march, parade or similar type event then you are required by law to notify us at least 28 days before the event. This allows us to make the local community aware of forthcoming events planned in their area.
Similar events may include:
- races, fun runs and sponsored walks
- gala day parades
- demonstrations and protests
Your notification must give details of the date, time, route and the estimated number of people taking part in the procession.
You must also submit a public procession risk assessment form and a locations plan/map.
If you have concerns about a parade or march taking place, you can make representations. Information about how to make a representation is available as a download.
