'Zero Waste' means avoiding the creation of waste. However, once created, waste should
be considered as a valuable material resource that needs to be brought back into
use within the Scottish economy.
To achieve a Zero Waste society across Scotland, we need commitment from everyone
in the Falkirk Council area.
Our Zero Waste Strategy 2012-2022 are the guidelines which help us manage the waste
within our control. The Zero Waste Strategy will be regularly reviewed to make sure
it accommodates any further measures.
Under the Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012,
we must reduce the amount of material being sent to landfill. This can only be achieved
with the help of every resident, community and business within the Falkirk Council
area.
