Course aims:
To raise awareness of the need to protect people across the lifespan (children, young people, and vulnerable adults) within the General Workforce, including volunteers, unpaid carers, foster carers etc; To assist multiagency staff within residential and day services to develop and maintain awareness of Protection issues and specifically to recognise, report and record actual or suspected issues of harm within formal and informal care settings. On completion of this course, participants should be clear about the responsibilities that they have to contribute to the safety and well being of children, young people and vulnerable adults, and how to raise any concerns that they may have if they feel that a child, young person or vulnerable adult may be at risk of abuse harm or neglect.

- Residential/Day Care Staff
- Social Care Assistants
- Support Workers – employed in Local Authority or NHS Forth Valley
- Hospital Based staff – Nurses, Doctors, Pharmacy, etc
- Supervisory and frontline staff in independent sector
- Frontline Housing Office Staff
- Frontline Homecare Staff
- Neighbourhood Officers
- Nursery staff independent and public sector
- Education staff
Essentially all staff who previously would have attended either the Level 2a Adult Protection Training or the basic Child Protection Half day training courses should attend this session.
