This e-learning resource has been developed by Falkirk Council to help raise awareness and understanding of this legislation. This resource has been developed for use by all staff groups.

By the end of this course you should:

• Develop knowledge and understanding of the concepts of capacity and Incapacity.
• Be more confident and competent when considering issues of capacity and incapacity.
• Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of factors that may indicate that an adult may lack or have impaired capacity.
• Be aware of and demonstrate an understanding of the provisions of the Adults with Incapacity(Scotland) Act 2000.
• Be aware & develop an understanding of the provisions of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of People with disabilities.
