Children and young people have additional rights because they are dependent on the adults around them. This allow them to grow, learn, play, develop and flourish with dignity.
Rights do not have responsibilities attached to them because children’s rights are human rights. By being born, a child is entitled to these rights.
By the end of this course, you will understand:
- What the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child is.
- What the UNCRC (Incorporation) (Scotland) Bill is and why it matters.
- The impact of children’s rights in policy, practice and service provision.
- The role of the Children and Young People's Commissioner Scotland (CYPCS).
The course is free and available at any time through our eLearning platform, OLLE.
