Mental Health Training – Ask, Tell, Save a Life
This training aims to equip us with the knowledge and skills to have supportive conversations around mental health with colleagues, customers, family and friends.
By the end of the course delegates will:
- Know some of the barriers to having compassionate conversations about mental health
- Be able to respond to people around us who may be experiencing mental health problems
- Know what support mechanisms are available for people experiencing mental health problems
The workshops are ideally suited to people who have no previous training in mental health and suicide prevention but will also help to refresh knowledge if you have undertaken previous mental health awareness training.
The workshops are not therapeutic sessions for personal disclosure but provide space and time to explore mental health, self-harm and suicide in conversations that encourage and enable us to respond to people around us who may be experiencing distress or difficulties.
This course consists of two 2 hours sessions and it is a requirement that you attend both sessions.
