More than 20 care experienced young people are dreaming of going to their first ball - but they need to find a fairy godmother to help them.

Taking place on the 24 November, the event is being organised to celebrate the achievements and friendships formed by past and present residents of Tremanna residential care home in Slamannan.

Local businesses have already come forward to wave their magic wands, offering their services for free to make the ball as memorable as possible for the young people.

The venue is booked. Ladies hair stylists, nail and make up artists are lined up as is the DJ but organisers still need help to:

  • Turn a few pumpkins into carriages
  • Decorations to make the venue sparkle
  • Gents barbers for the occasion

Senior social worker Pauline Connelly said: "We've already had great offers of help from local businesses - and we are so grateful for their generosity - but to make this the best party ever for our young people we still need to find these last few services and then everyone can go to the ball!"
