There are currently two policies out for consultation and we would appreciate it if you could take some time to complete the surveys and provide feedback. The surveys are open until 27 July 2022. Please see the details of the policies below:

Recovery of Overpayments Policy

This policy replaces the existing Recovery of Overpayments Policy. The updated Recovery of Overpayments Policy and newly created How-To guide set out the process for managing any overpayment made to a current or former employee. Only minor changes have been made when compared to the previous policy. These include updating the process used to communicate with Payroll about overpayments. The policy also reflects updates in the Financial Regulations and the financial and emotional support available to employees through the Council's website.

Capability Policy

The Capability Policy covers all employee groups, including teachers. It gives guidance on how to support and manage cases where an employee’s ability to undertake their role is affected by poor health or poor performance.

Guidance is also given on managing cases where an employee fails to obtain or maintain professional registration or a qualification essential for their role. It is the intention that the Managing Sickness Absence Policy will also be revised so that it ties in with some of the how-to guides to provide clarity on the links between the two policies.
