The first staff recognition events, which mark a new, more intimate approach to thanking individual employees and teams for the excellent work undertaken, took place earlier this month with around 100 members of staff attending.

Two separate events took place in the café area in The Foundry, bringing together employees from across all Services of the Council to recognise their dedication, innovation, and hard work.

Moving away from our previous large-scale award ceremonies, we’re holding smaller, more regular gatherings that allow the Chief Executive, Leader of the Council and Directors to personally thank employees in person. These gatherings will provide a platform for acknowledgement and appreciation.

Among those recognised were the FTH closure and relocation team, the Joint Dementia Initiative, Social Worker Georgia Rattray, and UCI cross-Service management team.  Additionally, we celebrated the Zetland Park and Libraries Services teams for their national recognition at the CoSLA Excellence Awards in October.

Kenneth Lawrie, Chief Executive said: "Both events celebrated the wide and diverse range of services delivered by staff. Recognising our employees dedication and achievements is fundamental to our success. Shifting towards smaller, more personal gatherings allows us to honour their commitment in a more meaningful way. It’s about acknowledging each contribution and nurturing a culture of appreciation.”

Stay tuned - more recognition events will be planned throughout 2024.
