Pupils and staff have been praised by Education Scotland today (26 November) following an inspection of Moray Primary School in Grangemouth.
The school was commended for its commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience and highlighted the school's inclusive ethos, innovative teaching practices, and strong relationships with pupils and their families, which collectively create a positive educational environment.
The inspection team identified several key strengths:
- Positive relationships where staff have built strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families. These connections foster a highly supportive and motivating environment where pupils are engaged and proud of their school.
- In digital innovation, Inspectors highlighted how teachers use digital technology in the classroom to make lessons more engaging, an approach that helps pupils develop important digital skills, preparing them well for the future.
- A wide variety of extracurricular clubs, groups, and leadership opportunities allow pupils to develop skills in teamwork, citizenship, creativity, and sports. These experiences build confidence and a strong sense of community.
- The enhanced provision class plays a vital role in ensuring pupils with additional needs feel included and valued. These pupils actively participate in the life of the school and make meaningful progress in both their learning and wellbeing.
While the school’s strengths were celebrated, the inspection also identified areas for development with staff continuing to refine how they plan and assess learning to ensure interventions are effective and have a measurable impact on pupils’ attainment as well as identifying and planning learning experiences for children who require challenge.
