The Forth Valley green revolution is underway with the launch of the Forth Valley for Net Zero Campaign, launched in July.

Once, this area was at the forefront of the industrial revolution that changed the world.

Now, the Forth Valley is playing its part in a new green revolution to cut emissions and help stop climate change

Forth Valley for Net Zero counts down to the COP26 in Glasgow and aims to empower local people to make a difference in society and business and raise the profile of the Forth Valley area, demonstrating how Net Zero will be achieved. There will be a focus on Innovation and industry, communities and places that demonstrate how the Forth Valley, including Grangemouth, is making the change to become a greener, Net Zero space and create future jobs for people in the green economy.

All eyes will be on Glasgow and Scotland in November as the UK hosts the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference. It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase how the Forth Valley is playing a leading role in helping Scotland and the UK hit their Net Zero targets.

Council Leader Cecil Meiklejohn, Leader, said: “We declared a climate emergency in 2019 and we are working on de-carbonising our own estate and operations by 2030. We are proud to be a lead partner in Forth Valley for Net Zero and with our community and industry partners will drive the Net Zero agenda forward not just for our area, but for the whole of Scotland.”
