Coronavirus (COVID-19) information for EIRs
In terms of the relevant legislation, we have 20 working days to deal with your request from the date that we receive it. However, as you might expect, COVID-19 is currently impacting on our ability to respond to requests in many cases. We are working in challenging circumstances to deliver essential front-line services to our most vulnerable people and communities. Some staff are also working from home and are therefore unable to carry out full searches for information.
If you are able to narrow the scope of your request that would be very helpful and may mean we can respond to you more quickly. In addition you may want to reconsider whether your request can be resubmitted at a later date once the impact of COVID-19 has eased.

You have the right to request environmental information from Scottish public authorities.
Requests can be made under the Environmental Information (Scotland) Regulations
2004 (EIRs) and they work in a similar way to Freedom of Information (FOI) requests.
An important difference is that you can make requests for environmental information
verbally.
We already make some environmental information available to the public. More information
can be found in our Guide to Information which is available on our
Publication Scheme page.
If you do not find what you want there, you can make an EIR request by completing
a request form:
You can also download this form and post it to us:

Or you can phone Development Services:
If you request environmental information from us, we will provide it to you within
20 working days. We may extend this to 40 working days if a large amount of information
or complex information is requested. If this is the case, we will let you know.
Sometimes there will be reasons why we cannot provide the information you want.
If that is the case we will tell you why. You can challenge our decision and ask us
to review our response. If you are unhappy after the review, you can appeal to the
Scottish Information Commissioner.
You can find more information in our Right to Complain Leaflet:

As with FOI requests, charges may apply if you request
a lot of information or if the information would take us a long time to produce.
