Community Planning is the name given to the process whereby local services and communities work together to tackle inequalities within the local community.

Local organisations work together and share their resources so that they can identify local issues, and use their shared knowledge to better plan and provide for the wellbeing of the community.

Falkirk Community Planning Partnership (CPP)

The partnership is the collection of public, private, third and community sector organisations providing local services in Falkirk that serve the local community.

In Falkirk, Community Planning Partners include:

  • Falkirk Community Trust
  • Falkirk Council
  • Falkirk Health and Social Care Partnership
  • Forth Valley College
  • NatureScot
  • NHS Forth Valley
  • Police Scotland
  • Scottish Enterprise
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service
  • Scottish Government
  • SESTran
  • Skills Development Scotland

Governance

Community Planning in Falkirk is led by the Community Planning Partnership Board. It is the responsibility of the Board to identify key priorities for the area, resource improvement of these priorities, and communicate effectively with the local community as to how these priorities are improving.

Members of the Board include the senior executive officers from local organisations, for example the Chief Executive of Falkirk Council and the local Chief Inspector of Police Scotland; and local Board members for example the Chair of the Health and Social Care Partnership Integration Joint Board, and the Chair of CVS Falkirk's Board.

Additionally, five organisations have joint responsibility for leadership and collective governance. These are:

  • Falkirk Council
  • NHS Forth Valley
  • Police Scotland
  • Scottish Enterprise
  • Scottish Fire and Rescue Service

The Board communicates the identified key issues, and how it plans to tackle them, with the local community via the Local Outcomes Improvement Plan. The Board meets every 2 months and the most recent agenda and minutes can be found below:
