A charge for providing standard size (240 litre) blue, brown, burgundy and green wheeled bins at new housing developments was introduced in April 2016.

From 01 April 2023 residents need to purchase a garden waste permit to have the brown bin emptied.

For residents purchasing new build property bins, there are 2 options available, either with or without a brown bin.

A full standard set of new build property bins INCLUDING the brown bin costs £113.40 and contains:

  • 1 x blue bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x brown bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x burgundy bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x black box
  • 1 x green bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x internal food caddy
  • 1 x external food caddy

There will be a link at the end of the request form to buy your garden waste permit.

A full standard set of new build property EXCLUDING the brown bin costs £86.40 and contains:

  • 1 x blue bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x burgundy bin (240 litres)
  • 1 x black box
  • 1 x green bin (240 litres)

If a developer has purchased the bins on behalf of the resident, it will be the resident's responsibility to buy a garden waste permit if they wish to have the brown bin collected.
