Our Licensing Forum helps shape the policies that affect licensing decisions locally.
The Forum works with the Licensing Board by making recommendations and suggestions on a wide range of issues connected with licensing, but not in respect of any particular case.
The Forum typically looks at:
- What is happening in the area in relation to alcohol and licensed premises
- Is the Licensing Board making decisions in line with what is stated in their policy
- What is the effect of the Board's decision in the area
- The operation of the licensing policy
The Forum gathers evidence from a range of sources to support its views. The Forum consists of a cross section of interested individuals including police, educational, health, social work, young people and license trade representatives, a Licensing Standards Officer and members of the public. Falkirk Local Licensing Forum has 18 members.
The Licensing Forum meets four times each year.
