Scottish venison dealers must be licensed under the Deer (Scotland) Act 1996.
It is an offence for any person to sell venison unless:
- They are a licensed venison dealer, OR
- They are selling to or are buying from a licensed venison dealer
Butchers and retailers who sell venison do not need a licence if the meat has been bought from a licensed dealer.
There are currently no licensed venison dealers in the Falkirk Council area.
