Lochlands Loan in Larbert will be temporarily closed to passing traffic on 27 February 2025 from 8am until 4pm to allow for essential litter removal.

The closure is necessary due to the narrow layout of the road, ensuring the safety of Estates operatives carrying out the work.

The Estates team will work to complete the cleanup as efficiently as possible to minimise any disruption to local road users.

Over time, roadside litter can pose risks to both pedestrians and motorists. This cleanup effort aims to improve safety, maintain road conditions, and enhance the overall appearance of the community.

Councillor Paul Garner, Deputy Leader at Falkirk Council, said:

We understand road closures are inconvenient, for local residents and businesses but this temporary measure is essential to ensure the work is carried out safely. It is unfortunate that we have to carry out this clean up due to inconsiderate car users throwing litter out of the window as they drive past.

A Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO) has been issued to facilitate the closure, and a signed diversion route will be in place to guide traffic. The cleanup has also been recorded in the Scottish Road Works Register for public awareness.

Please dispose of litter responsibly by using bins or taking waste home to help prevent future closures.
